Chinese Medicine is one of the world’s first all natural systems of healing. With 5,000 years of experience proving its value, Chinese Medicine is the choice of millions in China today and daily is being accepted by many in the West. Having more than one unexplained symptom, feeling fatigued as well as having other symptoms, not responding well to medications, or experiencing side effects are some of the signs that TCM may be helpful.

How Does Chinese Medicine Work

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) views the human body, firstly, as a whole and complete entity, not as a series of parts (arms, kidneys, lungs, toes, etc.)  Secondly, TCM recognizes that the body functions through the flow of energy (Qi) via a series of interconnected channels or meridians.  TCM techniques function to free clogged energy pathways to create balance (homeostasis) and thereby produce healing.

TCM utilizes a number of specific disciplines.  Some of the best known are Tai chi and Qi Gong, which are mind and body practices, Acupuncture, Moxibustion, soft tissue massage, cupping therapy, nutrition and herbal medicines.  Because Chinese herbal medicines are considered supplements in the U.S. and are not regulated by the FDA, we at Stratford Wellness and Acupuncture are most careful to work only with trusted sources.
